ZAKA Ambassadors Jordan at the IEEE Jordan AI Modelling Hackathon 2.0

The IEEE Jordan AI Modelling Hackathon 2.0 brought together hundreds of students interested in AI from universities across Jordan.

Hosted at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, the event welcomed more than 600 participants from 26 universities across Jordan, forming 121 teams. Students came together around artificial intelligence, modelling, problem-solving, and innovation, creating an environment full of people who were already interested in AI or eager to learn more about it.

Meeting Jordan’s AI Community

Throughout the day, we connected with students from universities across Jordan, introducing them to ZAKA, our work in AI education and community building, and the community we’re growing locally in Jordan.

Many students were already exploring AI through their studies, projects, and competitions. Others were simply curious and looking for a place to learn more, meet people with similar interests, and become part of the local AI ecosystem.

Those conversations were the highlight of the day for us.

Not just a Booth

We shared what ZAKA does, introduced students to the Ambassadors community, and spoke about the workshops, activities, and opportunities we hope to bring to students in Jordan.

But it wasn’t just about telling students what we do. We also wanted to hear from them.

We learned more about what they are interested in, what they want to learn, and what they hope to build with AI. Those conversations gave us a better sense of how we can continue creating opportunities for students in the Jordanian AI community.

26 Universities, One Community

One of the most valuable parts of the event was the range of students we met.

With students attending from 26 universities, we were able to connect with people from different academic backgrounds and different parts of Jordan, extending our conversations far beyond the host university.

The event also helped our chapter grow. Several students expressed interest in becoming more involved with ZAKA, and we were able to connect with people who are now joining our Jordan team.

For us, that was one of the best outcomes of the day.

Growing ZAKA in Jordan

The IEEE Jordan AI Modelling Hackathon 2.0 showed just how much interest and energy already exists around AI among university students in Jordan.

Being there gave us the chance to introduce ZAKA to more of that community, meet students who want to learn and contribute, and build stronger connections between AI-interested students across the country.

A big thank you to everyone behind the IEEE Jordan AI Modelling Hackathon 2.0 for creating a space that brought hundreds of students together around AI and innovation.

We’re excited to keep growing the ZAKA community in Jordan and to meet even more students at the events ahead.
