200 AI Enthusiasts Filled Slate The Space for ZAKA's Agentic Workflows with ADK 2.0

On Monday, June 29,  more than 200 attendees gathered at Slate The Space in Dubai for “Agentic Workflows: Task Automation with ADK 2.0,” hosted by ZAKA in collaboration with Google Developer Groups.

From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the venue welcomed developers, founders, students, AI enthusiasts, and professionals eager to explore how AI agents are reshaping the future of work. The excitement was evident from the moment attendees arrived, creating an energetic atmosphere filled with learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversations.

Opening the Evening

The event began with Larissa Abi Nakhleh, Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships at ZAKA, who welcomed everyone and introduced ZAKA’s mission of making AI education practical, accessible, and community-driven. She highlighted how events like these create opportunities for people to develop valuable AI skills while connecting with a growing community of innovators.

Next, Ramesh Chander introduced Google Developer Groups and shared how the global developer community empowers individuals through collaboration, technical learning, and local initiatives that help developers grow together.

What Everyone Learned

The evening’s technical session was led by Rohan Mitra, Machine Learning Engineer at Bayut & dubizzle, Google Developer Expert in Cloud AI, researcher at the American University of Sharjah, and organizer at GDG Sharjah.

Rohan introduced attendees to Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) 2.0 and explained how AI agents can move beyond conversations to execute complete workflows. Participants explored the three core workflow paradigms introduced in ADK 2.0: Graph Workflows for structured processes, Dynamic Workflows for algorithmic decision-making, and Collaborative Workflows for multi-agent task delegation.

Using a practical AI procurement case study, attendees saw how AI agents can automate software requests, perform compliance checks, coordinate approvals, and streamline repetitive business processes. The session also showcased key ADK 2.0 capabilities, including workflow visualization, state persistence, managed concurrency, and built-in human approval checkpoints, giving participants practical insights they could apply in their own projects.

The Community

The energy continued after the presentations as attendees gathered around the speakers, exchanged ideas, discussed real-world AI applications, and expanded their professional networks. Developers connected with founders. Students learned from experienced professionals. Conversations flowed naturally as people discovered new perspectives and opportunities for collaboration.

The strong turnout reflected the growing interest in practical AI education across the UAE. More professionals are looking for ways to integrate AI into their daily work, and events like this provide the perfect environment to learn directly from experts while building valuable connections.

What's Next

The momentum created during this event continues well beyond the closing session. As AI agents become an increasingly important part of modern workflows, ZAKA remains committed to bringing together experts, developers, students, and professionals through hands-on learning experiences that inspire innovation.

Every event strengthens the community, creates new opportunities for collaboration, and helps more people discover how AI can transform the way they work. We look forward to welcoming even more members of the community at future ZAKA events as we continue building the future of AI together.
