In this talk, Dima will first introduce the topic of Search as Learning, then discuss some research techniques to measure the user’s knowledge and adapt search systems accordingly.
About our speaker:
Dima is a PhD candidate at the I3S laboratory, Université Côte d’Azur with a MSc. degree from the Lebanese University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of information retrieval and human learning.
Dima specifically explores techniques to track the user’s cognitive aspects during search sessions. One of her research objectives is to use those techniques in the personalization of search results.
